3 Days of Terror, Fun, Exhaustion, Friendship Bonding and Entertainment! Yep, my fantastic class chalet and my financial arithmetic workshop teaching ended today. What an eventful 3 day experience...
Monday: Early in the morning, I took a bus to school to meet Sean and Rujun to take off to River Valley Pri School, our designated teaching campus. For your info, Sean's mom teaches in RV and he was an ex-RVian in his 'glorious' primary school years. So we went there and completed our
Living It Up monopoly game, which Sean and his mom
kindly created for the workshop and went for lunch at KFC of Great World City...
So at 1.3opm, the teaching started. We set up in the P5 class and when the supposedly young and innocent Prim 5s stepped in, we were like totally intimdated cos they all seem real naughty and talkative. Then we just taught them everything about CPF, Banking and blah... I suck when compared to Sean... : [ And oh, by the way, I forgot to relate my superior experience when I walked amongst the primary school kids cos for the first time in history, I
feel tall. Wow. Amazing.
Then it's chalet time! I went there at 5pm then saw Hurwitz, Kaijun, Kah Wee, Marcus, Sua and Jianyi already playing XBox in the room already... So I went for a bathe and played with them also. The game was SoulCalibre or something somewhere close to this word and I did wonders by button spamming - 1. I broke Kah Wee's winning streak of about 6.... 2. And I beat every other player consecutively in the winner-in-loser-out arrangement.. And so how did I beat them with my natural skill? I chose a female character in all my fights and the chio-est chio bu will win the fight and alas, so i won all the matches tyco-ly. :P
We later travelled to Tampines Mall via MRT and bus and the whole segregation was so obvious that we were really walking in packs of 4 - Taiboon, Sua, Jianyi and I (in the frnt) and Marcus, Hurwitz, Kah wee and Kai jun (at the back)... So we tried to connect to each other literally and was returned with amused faces. Lol... We decided to watch Shark's Tale at 2100 in the end despite Taiboon's strong protests that it sucked big time... I have to disagree this time... It's quite nice and simple but hmm.. maybe not worth $6.50... And I don't mean the ticket price.. I got freaking ripped off by buying nachos combo and couldn't finish it cos I was so freaky damn bloated... : (
So it was SoulCalibre time for them frm 12 - 4am when I was
DESPERATE in trying to sleep, but they always wake me up cos the sound was so loud, the lights and evrything so at 4am, I gave up trying to sleep and we decided to play Dodgeball with marcus' soccer ball... It was totally fun and all cos it is real cool and FUN! So it was lights off at 5am, leaving Hurwitz to play the game himself until we woke up at 7am..
Tuesday:
My alarm clock sounded at 7am and I woke up, but under the persuasion and strong influence of my fellow chalet-mates to skip VE cos I was just simply too tired and all-sorts... And even if could attend VE, I can't attend the whole session so i guess I have lots of explanations to do...
Hmmm.. We had breakfast at Mcdonalds (while most of us did), and I set off to RV whereas the rest bowled and saw Hurwitz off back home. The 2nd day was quite fun, cos I became more comfortable in teaching the kids and wasn't that scared of the p5 kids anymore. The game playing went quite smoothly too... This whole teaching experience has turned into fun lessons somehow on the 2nd day.. :D Kudo's to Sean's and his mom's resourcefulness!
We were totally drenched cos me and Rujun was hit by a heavy rainfall on our way to the bus stop opposite RV, whereas Sean was simply strolling under his umbrella and I was like totally sick cos I still had to take a train from Dhoby Ghaut to City Hall, City Hall to Pasir Ris, and a bus to Downtown East and walk 5 mins to the chalet,
DRENCHED! It's a surprise that I am still not sick, maybe a lil giddy headache but it's still fine so thanks for your concern...
When I got back, Tai Boon welcomed me, well, in his swimming trunks only. His body was real sizzly hot, as in red hot cos it is just literally
RED! He bought some tonning solution and applied on his body with the exasperation to get tan in one day
AFTER he went to beach for his tanning session. how effective can that be... His face is totally red like Terence's and we were like laughing at him, or at least I was... :P
Then Marcus came in and told me about the fantastic Xbox game they borrowed called Tony Hawk Undergrd which was some skating game. It was real fun to play and more fun to watch people play... I seriously suck in that game, and Sua Yu rocks the most in that game. In all aspects, hands down.
So it was Movie Time again, and we went to Tampines Mall for the Princess Diaries: Royal Engagement, which Jianyi, Sua and Marcus said that it sucked. Tai Boon was against them. And I was like, I love them both, I love all of you! Cos I like the movies quite a bit, unless they are
that sucky like 13 going on 30 or sth... Sua was pissed on the way back to the chalet but was livened up at the sight of the black machine. And he played with Marcus while I was watching, cos Jianyi and Taiboon slept earlier... Even though I can't really play the game, I still share the same excitement and fustration to get over the specified level/task... And thoughtful Marcus was like prompting me to play all the time cos he is afraid that I am lonely or left out...
Wednesday: We checked out at 1030am and went to White Sands for Delifrance breakfast. It's a big hole in my pocket but well, its worth it. Garlic bread, strawberry tartlet and ice tea.. Mmm... Then we took the MRT to City Hall and changed to Dhoby Ghaut which I then alighted on my journey to RV. I feel a tinge of sadness in my heart leaving Jianyi my best friend, Taiboon my
special friend and esp. Marcus my lil' bro... : (
Seriously, I feel that the remaining company I have in the chalet - Marcus, Sua, Jianyi and Taiboon are almost like my family in school. Those that I have an affirmity with, those that will never leave me out or forget me, or vice versa. I really enjoyed their company throughout the chalet and the fact that we are going to be separated makes the chalet visit more worthwhile for me. How sweet and heartwarming..
The financial maths lesson at RV was also rewarding cos I am so glad that the p5s understood mostly on what we taught thru the post workshop quiz and even though Sean has the most ticks for the 'Who's your favourite teacher?' question in the evaluation form, I am soo happy that 8 people actually voted for me.. Lol..
The
best thing is, after the workshop, which had lots of girls going ga-ga over Sean cos he is so charming and sweet, and charismatic, even Rujun have his own admirers of his own. There are 2 gals consistently talking to him and poking his ribs for sensory laughter and enjoyment. They even approached Rujun for his email and MSN hotmail. Wow... P5 gals nowadays ar.... :P
However, it's rather sad that Sean can't go watch SI with me tmr but the good news is I reapproached Jianyi and he could make it cos he originally thought that Gunung Ledang was tmr... So blur but so friendly, and I can't wait till tomorrow!!! XD
Signing off,
