Thursday: First night of Humans in celebration!
Basically, school lyk usual sucks so I shant tok abt it. We'll get to the evening as times passes by through the great sands of the Kalahari desert.
Evening time! Wow, look how time passes so quickly! Erps, ok, so we had our daily dry runs on stage first until 5.30 which was dinner time. We had some chicken and hash brown I think. Then as usual, Yong Lin had his vegetarian meal...After eating half a packet, we went for make up...
Gosh, did I just sae make up? Yesh, i was 'made' up by some teacher after putting baby lotion and foundation on, i SNooped off so no lipstick and eyepencil!!! Yarh....
So we went back to LT3, which was our waiting room and sang and played and talk. Basically, it was a good opportunity to talk cos' our play was the finale so we had to wait for 1.5hrs before we could actualli go to the Drama Centre....
Perhaps this was the moment I should start my story of the Big Pink Fluffy Cloud and Depressed Little Pixie.. But aniwaez, while love blooms for these 2 unsimilarly in sizes and personality nouns, I had a great time with all my friends, Sua Yu, Jeffrey, Jian Yi, Marcus, Yufeng....
Its like a class bonding thing cos we worked rather hard in the past week, from mondae to thursday at nite.... So I definitely hope we are much closer now than before.... I occasionally took toilet breaks with Marcus together cos we were so very excited on the first nite for the rowdy and unruly Sec 3s.
As time passes by, 2O and Eliseus's cast came back and told us that the Sec 3s laugh at every little thing in their plays... I was like wth? I mean, they can even laff at the boring history play? Budden, we toked some more until it was our turn...
We were all so very excited and went to the drama centre backstage... I was like praying that everything will work out fine and stuff... Then I gave an affirmative handshake to Jeremy and Jian Yi, pats on Kun Won and tell him that he is good for his role, cos he was so very stressed that he will screw his part up, and whisper to Taiboon that we will do well.... I was a lil doubtful but knew I had to give it all...
Finally, the spotlight was on us... All the 2mths and holiday rehearsals, the theatre sabbaticals, all our efforts were for tonite's first show... We did the 1st scene quite well, I mean, I didnt forget my lines for the chorus....
Then it was the second scene, the quarrelling scene seemed to happen so fast that in a moment, I was down on the floor as Kun Won played the 2 bar introduction. With trembling voice, I started, "One Voice, singing in the Darkness..." and circled around the spot until I continued with taiboon, "If more than one voice...." Then to the chorus, ok there wasnt much response then cos the audience actualli laffed when I started singing... Wadeva....
"All it takes is one voice, SHOUT IT OUT AND LET IT RING!!", omg, that time the sec 3s were like cheering like mad when I hit the high note... It was phenomenal, similar to the response in an American Idol show, the response was great when I sang tt, and of cos' I felt great as well.... Then when we ended the song, more applauses and cheering... It was an unforgettable feeling...
Me and Taiboon became more confident and literally became the character already, so eventually, the whole show went smoothly and nicely. Even for the Do-re-mi part and others... Even Jianyi had a 'woah' when he said his soul line, 'But... we just wanted to help..." Cool...
The dance was great, no flops, not much of a missing cue and stuff.... So in the end, we had thundering applause and cheers... Mr. Kevin Cheng said tt we had a standing ovation... Did we? Anyway, it was high... I mean everyone was very happy and stuff....
Then most people discussed abt how the sec3s cheered when I sang the high note... And Taiboon didnt get any attention... Haiz, u will see his reaction on the next post... Budden we r now, as in (18th July) still very good friends lar... So dun wry....
Then on the way to the bus stop, I felt like an infamous star or sth, either they point at me and say tt I am a g.a.y, which yours truly definitely isnt, or say tt I have a nice voice, blah blah.... And I took a bus home, toking to Edward during the journey...
Btw, I must thnk Khai Boon for smsing me encouraging messages throughout this journey and I realli do appreciate his thoughtfulness and encouragement that spurred me to do better...
